My journey began in a small town of west Baton Rouge, Louisiana called Port Allen. My interest in art started as early as the third grade when I won an award at my elementary school art show. I placed in the school and that experience sparked an interest in me that would affect the rest of my life. In middle school, my mother enrolled me into the public school art program. I began designing t-shirts and drawing oceanic and earth systems on the science class white board for the teachers at school. In high school I continued enrollment in art and continued to design t-shirts for the high school. I also liked to draw portraits. I designed a yearbook cover, and painted a mural of the high school’s mascot. Upon graduation, I attended basic training in Fort Jackson, South Carolina for the Army National Guard. While enlisted I was asked to do a series of wall paintings around the barracks.
Because my background was in art, I pursued a Bachelors in Landscape Architecture at Louisiana State University. Once I graduated, my husband Kirby (whom I married during college) and I moved to Denver, Colorado. I attended University of Colorado Denver to pursue my Masters of Landscape Architecture. While enrolled, I gave birth to our oldest son Kirby III the first year of enrollment and Daniel the second year.
After a few years without any art interest, my first painting was of our boys in 2011. That painting reignited my passion to pursue art and graphic design. I decided to go into freelance work. From then on, all the works of art on this website was created.
Currently, I works in a Landscape Architect position in Dallas, Texas where I enjoy working along with pursuing my art part-time.
